Getting your player ready...

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Ravens middle linebacker Ray Lewis isn’t expected to play in Sunday’s game against Cincinnati because of a toe injury that has prevented him from practicing all week.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh refused to rule out the two-time NFL defensive player of the year.

“Ray is Ray,” Harbaugh said. “You can’t count Ray out. . . . We’ll find out on Sunday, really. Ray has had shoulders dislocated and he’s done 35 push-ups on the sidelines to prove that he can go. He’s had hamstrings that have torn off the bone because he went ahead when he should have been gone.”

Lewis has started 57 consecutive games, a streak dating to December 2007. Lewis, 37, leads the Ravens with 68 tackles, also getting two sacks.

Ryan still flabbergasted

NEW YORK — Rex Ryan still couldn’t believe it, stunned even 12 hours after his Jets left Denver with a devastating loss. After the Jets (5-5) allowed Tim Tebow to cap a 95-yard drive with a 20-yard touchdown run in the final minute of a 17-13 loss Thursday night, Ryan knew exactly what went wrong: pretty much everything.

“Obviously, we had some breakdowns in protections,” Ryan said. “We had a turnover for a touchdown, we fumbled another special-teams play on a kick return after we had a huge return, and then obviously, the 95-yard drive, which is, it’s still hard to really fathom. I mean, it really is.”

Ryan wasn’t ready to put the blame on quarterback Mark Sanchez.

“It absolutely doesn’t belong on Mark’s shoulders,” Ryan said. “He’s just a player. He’s a big piece of the puzzle, but it wasn’t all on Mark Sanchez. . . . He’s going to be our quarterback for as long as I’m here, which I hope is a long, long time.”

Vick misses third practice

PHILADELPHIA — Eagles quarterback Michael Vick missed a third consecutive day of practice because of broken ribs, but coach Andy Reid did not rule him out of Sunday’s game against the Giants.

Reid said he plans to decide on a starter today.

If Vick can’t play, Vince Young would get the start.

Footnotes.

Raiders defensive tackle Richard Seymour (knee) missed his second straight practice, leaving him questionable for Sunday’s game in Minnesota. Running back Darren McFadden and wide receiver Jacoby Ford will miss the game because of foot injuries.

• Bears right tackle Gabe Carimi, a first-round draft pick, was placed on injured reserve with a dislocated right knee.
