DENVER—Former U.S. Sen. Hank Brown is among four people who will help Colorado Deputy Secretary of State Bill Hobbs find candidates to be his replacement.
Hobbs announced earlier this month that he plans to retire after 12 years in the Colorado secretary of state’s office and 31 years in state government overall.
Secretary of State Scott Gessler said Tuesday that Brown, former Colorado Secretary of State Gigi Dennis, DHR International executive Debra Young and Denver attorney Jim Hackstaff would join Hobbs on the search committee for his replacement.
The deputy secretary of state is a political appointee who serves as an adviser to Gessler, focusing on public policy in elections and business filings.
Gessler hopes to fill the post by early next year.
