Big Time Rush, the eponymous, boy-band quartet of Nickelodeon’s hit show, follows a long line of TV concepts turned road warriors, from the Monkees to Miley Cyrus, in launching its first-ever national tour. The group moved millions of copies of its self-titled 2010 debut and is poised to repeat that success with this week’s release of “Elevate,” another slab of shiny, dance-friendly R&B and pop. The 2012 leg of the tour stops by Broomfield’s 1stBank Center on Feb. 22. Tickets are on sale. ($25-$45, TicketHorse)
The band moe. rarely misses a chance to give our state some love, and February will be no different for the venerable New York jam outfit. It plays Aspen’s Belly Up on Feb. 9 and the Boulder Theater Feb. 10-11. Belly Up tickets are on sale now ($39, ), with Boulder Theater tickets on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 2. ($41-43.50, )
Umphrey’s McGee, another jam band with a noted Colorado fondness, will follow suit by playing March 7-8 shows at Aspen’s Belly Up before hitting Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium on March 9. Tickets are available now. ($27.50-$35, , )
Jane’s Addiction will also stop by the Belly Up for a pair of New Year’s shows next month. Tickets for the alt-rock godfathers’ Dec. 30-31 concerts are on sale now, and while they don’t come cheap — reserved passes for Dec. 31 will set you back a staggering $575 — no one really goes to Aspen to save money anyway, right? Chris Hardwick doesn’t look like your typical nerd, with his leather-jacket promo photos and tongue-in-cheek self-help tips for geeks of all stripes. But his popular Nerdist podcast is part of a burgeoning mini-empire that includes hosting duties on G4 and AMC shows, and his new book, “The Nerdist Way.” He brings cohorts Jonah Ray and Matt Mira to the Boulder Theater on March 2 for a live taping of the show and, oh yeah, some old-fashioned stand-up comedy.
