FRIDAY. Nathaniel Rateliff headlines the Gothic Theatre tonight for what will surely be one of the season’s most memorable shows. Rateliff is said to be performing a mix of new and old material with his full backing band, Fairchildren, in one of his largest hometown headlining dates of the year. Denver all-stars Snake Rattle Rattle Snake, Bad Weather California and A. Tom Collins will flesh out the eclectic bill and, with their respective fanbases, help fill the Gothic. Tickets, $15, are available through .
SATURDAY. Thee Oh Sees defy garage rock norms by playing complex, tight and technically savvy music. And yet the San Francisco quartet is one of the wildest, rowdiest, sloppiest and most entertaining rock ‘n’ roll bands on the scene today. They wowed us at the Larimer Lounge earlier this year and multiple times at South by Southwest in Austin, Tex., and now, they’re back on the Front Range for a Saturday-night rager at Moe’s Original BBQ in Englewood. Tickets, $8-$10, are available through . Total Control and Sauna will open the show.
WEDNESDAY. Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin has one of the longest names in indie-rock, and also one of the funniest. The Springfield, Mo., band hits the Hi-Dive on Wednesday with its Ozark brethren (and 2011 UMS headliners) Ha Ha Tonka in tow. While Ha Ha Tonka has more of an Americana, alt-country feel, its counterpart makes feel-good pop-rock that keeps the catchy hooks in the foreground of the song. Tickets for Wednesday’s show, presented by Reverb, are $10 through .
