A person was rushed to a local hospital after being extricated from a car that had rolled onto its roof on the bank of the South Platte River, officials say.

The condition of the victim, whose name has not been released, was not immediately available, said Lt. Phil Champagne, Denver fire spokesman.

The accident happened at about 9:55 a.m. near 1685 S. Platte, Champagne said.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
