COLORADO SPRINGS — The death of 87-year-old Kathryn “Kit” Grazioli, whose burned body was found at a trailhead early Wednesday, saddened business associates and fellow churchgoers, who described her as “generous” and “thoughtful.”
Jim Wood, who met her on Facebook, told the Gazette that she stayed on top of changes in technology. She offered him frequent updates about the latest gadgets, including smartphones.
Marcus Smith, 21, on probation for second-degree burglary, was jailed Friday on suspicion of first-degree murder, suspected of killing the former church deacon and burning her body.
The Gazette reported neighbors fear Grazioli was killed during a break-in at her house in the 1100 block of Samuel Point, in a gated community southeast of Colorado 115 and Cheyenne Meadows Road.
