Firefighters put out a fire this morning at an apartment complex in Westminster.

The fire broke out at about 4:45 a.m. in the 4900 block of West 93rd Avenue, at the Vintage Apartments, said Diana Allen, a Westminster Fire Department spokeswoman.

A three-story, 12-unit apartment building was evacuated with the help of police and no one was injured.

Investigators believe the fire started on a third-floor balcony and flames spread into the attic.

Six families have been displaced by the fire, according to the fire department.

One unit sustained heavy fire damage and two units were damaged by water and smoke. Three units are evacuated because the power has been shut off as a safety precaution.

It took firefighters about 30 minutes to put out the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
