Colorado Springs police have made an arrest in connection a series of drugstore and pharmacy robberies in which the same drug was requested by an armed bandit.
Since Oct. 13, there have been seven such robberies in Colorado Springs — all involving a white man.
In all cases, the suspect specifically demanded hydromorphone tablets and displayed a handgun or indicated that he was armed.
In some of the robberies, he tried to disguise himself by wearing a wig or using a scarf to hide his face.
After the latest robbery on Wednesday at a Safeway pharmacy on 6925 Mesa Ridge Parkway in Fountain, robbery detectives received information that allowed them to identify a possible suspect.
Just after noon today police arrested Nathan Kyle Gasser, 22 in the parking lot of the Windmill Apartments.
According to a news release from the Colorado Springs police department, evidence has been found linking Gasser to seven robberies.
In addition, Gasser is now a suspect in at least eight other pharmacy robberies including the Wednesday robbery in Fountain, and others in Arapahoe county, Littleton, and Parker.
