Mike Britt has been patrolling Aspen Mountain for two years and skiing for 36 years. A look at a few of his favorite things:
Favorite run: Wherever I’m skiing at the moment. I like the Bingo Glades on Aspen Mountain, though.
Most rewarding aspect of the job: I really enjoy helping others. And I love the camaraderie within the ski patrol.
Best safety/awareness tip: Please respect all ropes, closures and signs we set in place. And for anyone who likes to catch air, I have this little motto to live by: “Pre-Ride, Re-Ride, Free-Ride” which loosely translates to check your landing zone, your takeoff, maybe have a spotter in place as well, and once you’re comfortable with everything, hit it with confidence!
