NEW YORK — Verizon is “very serious” about a potential offer for Netflix, said media analyst Porter Bibb, citing unnamed people inside the telecommunications carrier. Verizon, which plans its own streaming video service, is considering an offer for Netflix, the subsription-based DVD and streaming movie- rental service, Deal Reporter reported Monday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
