COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colorado Springs police say the father of a baby who died after suffering head injuries is facing a charge of first-degree murder.
Twenty-two-year-old Nicholas Patrick Smith initially was arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse after 8-month-old Elise Martinez-Mosley was taken to a hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Police say it was determined that her injuries weren’t accidental. They say she died around 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Police didn’t release other details.
