The man who was killed while trimming trees in Fort Collins on Tuesday, was identified today.
Dusty A. Greathouse Jr., 34 of Fort Collins, died of blunt force to the head and neck and traumatic asphyxia, according to a news release from the Larimer County Coroner’s Office.
His death was ruled an accident.
Rescue crews were called to the 2000 block of Hunter Court at about 1 p.m. to check on a man dangling from a safety harness in a tree.
Paramedics got up into the tree and found Greathouse. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told investigators Greathouse had been cutting tree limbs when he cut one above his head and it hit him.
