A Colorado Springs woman had a truly rude awakening early today when a suspected drunk driver crashed into her house and his Chevy sedan pushed her bed away from the wall, police said.
Her name was not released, but the Colorado Springs police blotter states she escaped injury.
Brandon Michael Anderson, 22, was arrested after the crash about 4:15 a.m. at 2915 N. Arcadia St. Police said alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Police said Anderson and a passenger were going south when Anderson lost control of the car, jumped a curb, crossed a sidewalk and several feet of grass and landscaping before hitting the house, rupturing the wall.
Anderson is being held in the El Paso County Jail on $10,000 bond on charges that include drunken driving.
Court records show that in January Anderson pleaded guilty to driving while ability-impaired, after initially being charged with driving under the influence in Colorado Springs.
He received a year of probation, 48 hours of community service, plus fines.
