brought their blend of early ’90s pop-country to the on Friday night. Longtime fans will better recognize front man Clyne and his shuffled new lineup as “the Refreshments” best known for their radio hit “Banditos” and providing the theme song to “King of the Hill.”
The band is re-packaged, but the formula is still there. Cowboy Hats, finger picked guitar licks, songs about escaping this life for a slower pace in old Mexico — all glued together by a tapestry of mariachi backing music.
The majority of the set list came from the Refreshments’ album “Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy” released in 1996 with hits like “Mexico,” “Mekong” and the aforementioned “Banditos.”
