The man who died in a Lakewood house fire on Christmas Eve was identified today as 42-year-old Todd Randall Gardner.
Police and investigators from West Metro Fire Rescue are working to determine where the fire started in the home and what caused it, according to a news release from the Lakewood Police Department.
Two children and two dogs escaped the blaze, which started around 1:25 a.m.
The children’s names have not been released.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found smoke spewing from the home, located at 12123 W. Maryland Dr.
It took 35 firefighters about 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze. The fire was officially out at 2:13 a.m.
