COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A Colorado Springs bomb squad is investigating explosions at a home authorities believed were caused by homemade fireworks.
Police Sgt. Michael Spitzmiller says neighbors reported hearing two large explosions just before 6 p.m. Thursday. The Colorado Springs Gazette reports ( ) that police cordoned off several blocks surrounded the home but no evacuations have been ordered.
A bomb squad is investigating whether anything from the home needs to be removed. Spitzmiller says it appears that the resident was trying to make homemade fireworks.
