The average price for a gallon of gasoline has dipped below $3 in Denver, according to the gas-price website .
The Denver average for a gallon of regular is $2.99, after dropping 2.9 cents last week, the website said. The price of gas in Denver is 20.7 cents per gallon more than a year ago but 25.2 cents cheaper than a month ago.
Nationally, however, the price of gas ticked up last week by 2.4 cents per gallon to $3.25.
