A goose that survived when it was intentionally struck by an SUV on Sunday died overnight Thursday, according to officials at the Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
Police say they have identified three Longmont High School students suspected of intentionally running over the geese.
Witnesses watched Sunday as a white SUV stopped near 12th Avenue and Sumner Street. One teenager got out of the SUV, herding a group of the birds out of a nearby yard and onto the roadway.
The driver then accelerated into the animals, killing three. The teens then left the area in the SUV. Witnesses and tipsters helped to identify the three teenagers. Pierrett J. Shield, Longmont Times-Call
