FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Larimer County officials have reached a $14.8 million settlement over problems with metal buildings at the county’s fairgrounds complex, The Ranch.

Part of the roof at an exhibition hall collapsed after blizzards in 2006, and an investigation revealed design defects.

The Coloradoan reports ( ) the county reached its settlement with parties including The Neenan Co., which was the general contractor. Company President Randy Myers said Friday his firm inherited the problems from the project’s original contractor. The Neenan Co.’s work on schools around the state has come under scrutiny after unsafe conditions closed one school it worked on.

The fairgrounds settlement also includes building manufacturer and designer Eaglespan Steel Structures Inc.; architects Bullock Smith & Partners Inc. and Kenney and Associates; structural engineer KL&A; and Delta Construction Inc.
