Head skis is returning to Colorado.
The company’s winter division — which sponsors ski racing superstars like Lindsey Vonn, Bode Miller and Ted Ligety and freeskiing heroes Simon Dumont and Jon Olsson — is moving from Connecticut to Boulder. The recently revitalized line of Head skis has enjoyed a surge in recent years, thanks to its vibrant freeski team and dominant ski racers.
“This move to Colorado allows us to expand our offices and puts us back in the middle of snow country,” said Kevin Kempin, President and CEO of HEAD USA, in a statement released Monday.
The company expects to be situated in its new digs — exactly where in Boulder remains unknown — by the end of the year. The company expects to employ no more than a dozen people in the office.
Boulder is now home to several ski companies, including custom ski-maker Folsom Skis and Movement Skis.
