DENVER—Some Colorado Department of Transportation crews will be working through the Thursday morning rush hour to take care of icy roads that got some fresh snow.
The National Weather Service says a storm brought up to 8 inches of snow Wednesday to parts of Jefferson County, and 8 inches also was reported in the high country on Rabbit Ears Pass.
U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass on the Continental Divide was closed Wednesday due to high avalanche potential, windy conditions and low visibility.
The snowfall was welcome at ski resorts. On Wednesday, the statewide snowpack was just 65 percent of average for the date.
