Thornton police need help identifying a man who tried to kidnap a woman from a Walmart parking lot on Jan. 3.
The woman was shopping at the store at 9901 Grant St. at about 9:30 p.m. when a man she did not know started following her. She left the store and the man followed her to her car, pulled a black pistol and ordered her to get in the car and presumably take him with her, police said.
Instead, “The victim yelled for help and was able to summon the assistance of several bystanders in the parking lot,” police stated.
The man walked away.
He is described as 25 to 35 years old, about 6 feet tall, 200 to 225 pounds with short thinning blond hair. He wore thin wire eye glasses and a dark-colored heavy winter coat, black T-shirt, white sneakers and blue jeans.
