A woman snatched cash from a Good Samaritan in Colorado Springs early this morning, leading to the arrest of two men who are suspected accomplices.

The incident happened at about 2:35 a.m. in the 5400 block of Pinon Valley Road, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.

The victim was walking his dog when a vehicle pulled up and a woman got out of it, police said. The woman asked the man for money and when he pulled cash from his pocket she grabbed all of it and bolted back the vehicle, which took off.

A few minutes later the victim crossed paths with the vehicle again and a man inside it brandished a handgun, police said.

Responding officers found the suspect vehicle parked in the area with two men inside it. They were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit theft and one man is also suspected of menacing.

A holster was seized as evidence but police did not find a gun. The woman was not found, police are trying to determine her identity.

Police identified the men arrested as 23-year-old Joseph Kennedy and 20-year-old Christopher Richards.
