SQUAW VALLEY, Calif. — A competitor to Denver’s bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics added two men with Colorado credentials to its campaign board.
Blaise Carrig, co-president of Vail Resorts, and Andy Wirth, chief executive of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows resorts, have been elected to the 32-member Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition board.
Vail Resorts, based in Colorado, owns the Heavenly and Northstar resorts at Lake Tahoe, and in Colorado, it owns Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone mountain resorts.
Wirth was the senior vice president of sales and marketing for Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. in Colorado until July 2010, when he left to become CEO at Squaw Valley.
