Out Front Colorado, the state’s oldest magazine geared toward the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities, has been sold to Transformation Communication Group. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

According to the magazine’s website, TCG will take control of Out Front on Monday and will publish the first magazine under new ownership Feb. 1.

Out Front Colorado was founded by the late Phil Price more than 35 years ago. Its first issue printed on April 2, 1976.

“We are beyond thrilled about this acquisition,” Jerry Cunningham, president and chief executive of TCG, told Out Front. “Our commitment is to continue the operation with the same integrity, local focus and quality expressed in the credo that appeared in the very first edition of OFC.”

Cunningham added that TCG plans to expand Out Front Colorado into “a complete multi media company.”

Greg Montoya, Out Front’s outgoing publisher and editor in chief, said on the website, “We have had such an amazing run with Out Front and developed such a profound responsibility to the GLBT community over the past few decades.”

Eavesdroppingon two kids playing with action figures: “This zombie is going to heaven.”

“Zombies don’t go to heaven. They go to the opposite of heaven.”

“What’s the opposite of heaven?”

“I don’t want to say; it’s a bad word.”

“Stupid heaven?”
