A man is in custody after allegedly dragging a dog to death in Alamosa.
According to the Alamosa Sheriff’s Office, a dog was dragged by a rope behing a pickup truck on Highway 160 in Alamosa on Jan. 6.
The driver, later identified as Eril Rael, claims he did not know the dog was in the truck. The dog had a rope around its neck and was skinned almost to the bone by the time Rael was pulled over.
Rael was charged with animal cruelty and was not arrested at the time.
