DENVER — Two men accused of partying on a dead friend’s ATM card while his body cooled, first in the car and then at his home, pled guilty to abuse of a corpse today.

Robert Jeffrey Young, 43, and Mark Rubinson, 25, put Jeffrey Jarrett, who they believed had passed out, into the back of Rubinson’s Lincoln Navigator, and went to a bar and restaurant where they used Jarrett’s credit card.

When they realized Jarrett, 43, was dead they took him back to his house, left the body in a bedroom, and made several more stops where they continued to charge Jarrett’s card.

The men are scheduled to be sentenced on March 8. Young also pled guilty to identity theft, a felony with a sentencing range up to six years, said Lynn Kimbrough, spokeswoman for the Denver District Attorney’s Office. Neither man will serve time, however. Their plea agreements call for probation, she said.
