PUEBLO, Colo.—A man suspected of dozens of rapes in New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma has been sentenced to prison in another case in Pueblo.
KKTV reports ( ) a judge Friday sentenced Robert Bruce to the maximum 6 years for attempted sexual assault and 24 years for burglary. He pleaded guilty in that case in October.
The Colorado case resembled a string of attacks in which rags soaked with chemicals were used to subdue women, earning the suspect the nickname “Ether Man.”
Bruce has already been convicted and sentenced to 64-years in prison for attempting to kill a Pueblo officer who was to testify against him in a Peeping Tom case. Investigators say DNA found on a propane tank rigged to leak into the officer’s home linked Bruce to other cases.
