AURORA — The Aurora City Council agreed Monday to house some municipal inmates at the Denver jail instead of in Adams County.
The move comes after Adams County capped the number of inmates at four at any one time and placed a $45-a-day charge for any additional inmates. It will cost Aurora $52 a day to house inmates at the Denver jail, but Aurora officials say the proximity to the Denver jail on Smith Road instead of the Adams County jail in Brighton will save money.
