Denver director Daniel Junge’s “Saving Face” — produced and edited by Davis Coombe, also of Denver — is nominated for best documentary short. For the film, Junge and co-director Sharmeen Obaid- Chinoy traveled to Pakistan to tell the story of two women who were burned with acid by their husbands. This is Junge’s second run at an Oscar in that category. In 2009, “The Last Campaign of Governor Booth Gardner” — about Washington’s former governor and his work on die-with-dignity legislation — was up for the statuette.
