NEW YORK—A New York City man accused in one of the most serious terror plots since the Sept. 11 attacks has pleaded not guilty to a revised indictment.
Adis Medunjanin and others are accused of trying to recruit someone identified only as “John Doe” to travel to Pakistan “to wage violent jihad.”
On Wednesday, the judge gave the government a week to tell the defense that person’s real name.
Last week, the government linked “John Doe” to what evolved into a failed 2009 scheme by Najibullah Zazi to attack Manhattan subway lines with suicide bombers.
Medunjanin previously pleaded not guilty to conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction and providing material support to a terrorist group.
