The Blue Bear Truck – serving locally-sourced bison and lamb-sliders, chicken drumettes and more items – is making the rounds of Denver events this winter.

Centerplate, which is the sponsor of the food truck, said today that the Blue Bear Truck, made its debut just outside the SIA Snow Show at the Colorado Convention Center, in the shadow of its 40-foot inspiration – the large bear peering into the center.

The company said in a statement that Centerplate, which describes itself as the largest hospitality partner to North America’s premier sports stadiums and convention centers, is using an array of locally sourced ingredients for the Blue Bear Truck.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the Blue Bear Truck at SIA this year,” said Laurence Rua, vice president at Centerplate . “As a former chef, I worked closely with our chef, Carmen Callo , to create a new menu that attendees will love. From our Blue Bear Slider, with grass-fed beef from Castle Rock Meats and topped with caramelized onions and monterey jack cheese sauce, to our pulled-pork slider, to our garlic fries, every item has been developed with care.”

The image of the Colorado Convention Center’s blue bear appears on three sides of the truck. As a result, Centerplate believes that Blue Bear Burgers and BBQ will be a recognizable figure in the “burgeoning Denver food truck scene.”

“Expect to see more appearances after concerts at the Fillmore Auditorium, during meetings and conferences at the Colorado Convention center, and around Denver this winter and spring,” said Centerplate.

This week, the Blue Bear Truck will be parked in front of the Colorado Convention Center today through Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. All menu items are priced between $3 and $4, with combinations available.
