Two children were injured in Denver this morning when a car turned in front of a school bus and caused a collision, police said.

The two-vehicle accident happened about 8:40 a.m. on East 13th Avenue at the intersection of Clermont Street, said Lt. Matt Murray, a Denver Police Department spokesman.

The Denver Public Schools bus was heading westbound on 13th Avenue when a vehicle turned in front of it, Murray said.

Two children, both 9-year-olds, were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, Murray said. Further details on their injuries were not available.

The driver of the vehicle will likely be cited for causing the collision, Murray said.
