We’ve been listening to the affable, willowy jam “Simple Song” for the last few weeks, and while itap like a grander, more elegantly produced reminder of the band’s simple roots, itap gotten us excited to see the act again.
And it looks like we will. The band just announced a couple high-profile headlining dates in the U.S., including a somewhat surprisingly large Colorado date this summer.
The Shins will headline on May 29. The band’s Columbia Records debut, “Port of Morrow,” comes out on Mar. 20, marking the band’s first non-Sub Pop outing.
Update: Reverb just learned that the Shins’ Portland, Ore., neighbors Blind Pilot will open four shows this summer — including Red Rocks. (That’s an indie rock/chamber pop match made in heaven.)
Listen to another new Shins track – a chiming ballad, “September” – right . Tickets for the band’s Red Rocks date, $36.50-$43.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster.
