 A lockdown was lifted at 4:30 p.m. at two Arapahoe County schools, after a precautionary secured perimeter was established at 2:45 p.m following a bank robbery nearby.

The Sheriff’s Department said most of the students at Falcon Creek Middle School had already gone home when the order was imposed, but students at Rolling Hills Elementary had not dismissed and were held inside.

The Sheriff’s Department said there was a robbery at the Key Bank branch nearby on East Smoky Hill Road was held up, but investigators have not yet released details..

Falcon Creek Middle School is at 6100 South Genoa St. and Rolling Hills Elementary is at 5756 South Biscay Circle, both with Aurora addresses off Smoky Hill Road
