GREELEY, Colo.—After five years of losing money, the Greeley Stampede says it made money last year.

The Greeley Tribune reports ( ) that the summertime event’s profit of around $500,000 is the most reported since 1998.

The annual Stampede features rodeo events, concerts and more. It was able to operate in 2011 after obtaining a $200,000 loan that organizers have since paid off.

Organizers say good weather, more affordable entertainment and more sponsorships contributed to the event’s success last year.
