An Air Force officer from Colorado Springs was among four people killed when a military plane crashed Saturday in Djibouti, according to the Defense Department.

Capt. Ryan P. Hall died when the U-28 he was piloting crashed while returning from an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission for the war in Afghanistan, according to the military.

Hall, 30, had more than 1,300 combat flight hours. He was assigned to the 319th Special Operations Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Fla. Initial indications are that hostile fire did not cause the crash.
