DENVER—Authorities are searching for a man who they say fired a shot at an officer and ran in Denver.
Police say the officer wasn’t hit and wasn’t injured when the man fired a pistol at him at close range Monday night.
The Denver Post reports ( ) the incident happened at about 8:30 p.m. in an area southeast of Sloans Lake in West Denver.
Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says an officer approached the man because he was “acting suspiciously. Police say they don’t know why the man opened fire.
The suspect was described as white or Hispanic, “youngish” and wearing a hoodie with patches.
Officers set up a perimeter and were searching the area with a helicopter and dogs late Monday.
