LOVELAND – —With some Loveland city councilors having already raised questions about a proposed $150,000 technology transfer initiative, city officials and business executives on Tuesday arrived armed with answers.
City Economic Development director Betsey Hale outlined an exacting path that qualified Loveland businesses would follow to unlock patents available through NASA, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and other government and university labs.
And the CEOs of two of them told councilors that they held the keys, with a decision to bring a high-powered consulting firm to bear, to infuse the city’s economy with new manufacturing energy.
By late Tuesday, council members were convinced, voting unanimously in favor of the project.
