A group of unruly protesters  threw urine-filled water balloons and marked up a public bus, a police car and numerous other vehicles tonight in downtown Denver.

Five people were arrested for graffiti, said Denver police Lt. Matt Murray.

The protesters were using markers to draw an A with a circle around it, a sign for anarchy, on vehicles along 16th Street Mall and Colfax Avenue near Civic Center Park, police said.

About 60 to 70 people began marching through downtown around 7:30 p.m., chanting obscenities about police.

Murray said there was no major property damage and that the protest was aimed at the police department.
