A suicidal man armed with a shotgun held Westminster police at bay for several hours before surrendering this evening.
He will be held for 72 hours for a mental health evaluation, said Westminister police spokeswoman Cheri Spottke, who could not release the man’s name or age, citing privacy of health care information.
The home where the standoff occurred is in the 1700 block of 113th Avenue. The standoff prompted the closure of 113th Avenue between Quivas Street and Raritan Street.
