Denver police are looking for a young man or teenager who fired a gun at an officer.
The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 in the 1700 block of Julian Street, according to a Crime Stoppers media release.
Officers were called to the area on a report of a car prowler; there have been several thefts from vehicles in the same area of northwest Denver recently, police said.
An officer spotted and contacted a suspect, who pulled a handgun and fired at the officer, police said.
The suspect, who remains at large, fled on foot, running westbound in the 1600 block of Julian Street.
He is described as a young white man or teenager, likely between the ages of 14 to 19, about 5-feet 8-inches tall with a thin build.
Police believe the suspect has prowled the area before and he uses a skateboard to get around.
Anyone with information on the incident, or a suspect, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720 913-STOP (7867) or send a text to 274637 (CRIMES) then title DMCS and enter a message.
Tipsters can remain anonymous.
