Firefighters put out a structure fire in Denver today and a fire truck heading to the blaze got into a traffic accident.
The fire broke out on the second floor of a three-story building in the 3400 block of Gilpin Street, said Lt. Phil Champagne, a Denver Fire Department spokesman.
The blaze was so intense it blew a window out and spread to the floor above it. Firefighters put the fire out and there are no reports of injuries from the scene.
Meanwhile, a fire truck heading to the fire, “with lights and siren going,” got in to a traffic accident, Champagne said.
This report will be updated with details on the accident as soon as possible.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Champagne said.
