GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Deputies are investigating the death of a 31-year-old Fruita man who had been stabbed.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department says Abel Roper was found Thursday beside his pickup in a mobile home park near Grand Junction.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports ( ) that two people called sheriff’s dispatchers to say that someone they didn’t know was parked in the mobile home park. The first caller said the man was kneeling beside the pickup and the second said he was lying on the ground.
Deputies say Roper was dead when they arrived.
Authorities are asking anyone who knows where Roper was on Wednesday night or Thursday morning to call investigators at 970-244-3252.
