The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office says an early morning fire in Lefthand Canyon is contained and the U.S. Forest Service has taken over command.

The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning, according to the Lefthand Fire Protection District.

Gusty winds, ranging from 1 to 14 miles per hour, have been a factor in getting the fire under control.

No evacuation orders are in place and there are no reports of injuries.
