LAKEWOOD, Colo.—A proposal for the Lakewood City Council to limit smoking at restaurants is dividing politicians, business owners and nonsmokers.

The Colorado Restaurant Association and smoking rights advocates say limits on smoking have already gone too far.

According to the Denver Post ( ), the new limits would include no smoking on restaurant patios until 9 p.m., 25 feet of smoke-free clearance at doorways and no smoking at park gatherings.
