Colorado Springs police and his bail bondsman are looking for 58-year-old Arnold Erick Johnson, who police said is wanted on sex assault and drug charges.

A bounty hunter tracked Johnson to the Super 8 Motel at 270 N. Chestnut St. in Colorado Springs this morning and called police to apprehend him, the agency said this afternoon,

“The subject fled on foot prior to our arrival,” Colorado Springs police said in a media alert.

Johnson is white, 6 feet, 3 inches tall, 205 pounds with hazel eyes. He was wearing blue jeans, a T-shirt and brown boots when he ran off.

Court records show Johnson has a lengthy arrest record in El Paso County.

Colorado court records do not indicate a sex assault charge has been filed against Johnson. He had a Nov. 28 court date on an assault charge in Colorado Springs, but failed to appear. He was free on $800 bond in that case, but it was increased to $2,000 pending his eventual arrest on Nov. 28, court records show.

He pleaded not guilty to a meth possession charge in October and failed to show up at a pre-trial conference on Nov. 28. He was free on $5,000 bond in that case.
