LAKEWOOD, Colo.—Lakewood residents are opposing attempts to build a new school for the deaf.
The Rocky Mountain Deaf School is being relocated because the emergency alert system is inadequate, the roof leaks and faulty wiring triggered a fire.
The school is getting a $13 million grant from the Colorado Department of Education to build a new public school.
According to KMGH-TV ( ), residents say the new school will overload traffic and drive away wildlife.
