GUNNISON, Colo.—Western State College of Colorado’s trustees have unanimously approved a motion to change the school’s name to Western State Colorado University.
The motion approved Friday also approves spending $130,000 in reserves to support initial costs related to the change.
A legislative bill seeking approval for the renaming will now be drafted. If it’s signed into law, the new name would likely be adopted July 1.
