COLORADO SPRINGS — Linda Bryant was sentenced Friday to 42 years in prison for pocketing almost $200,000 in welfare support without reporting that her two adoptive sons had disappeared.
Bryant pleaded guilty Jan. 12 to four counts of felony theft, two counts of conspiracy to commit theft and 48 counts of attempting to influence a public servant, all felonies.
Edward Dylan Bryant and Austin Eugene Bryant vanished from the Monument-area home of Bryant and her husband, Edward Bryant, almost a decade ago and have not been found.
The Bryants continued to take El Paso County welfare support for the boys after they disappeared and after the couple moved to Texas in 2005.
